Nursery Daily Routine
Nursery
Here at Orchard Vale Nursery, we pride ourselves in giving children confidence with the hope of a deep love for learning, gaining experiences and learn new skills to enrich them throughout their school life. Our nursery can currently provide for 26 places in one session (however this may be subject to change due to the high demand at various times of the year).
We have a large main room which we encourage continuous provision throughout the day, this enables children to develop their learning in all areas of the curriculum in order for them to achieve their full potential. We provide an inclusive practice and feel strongly that all children deserve the opportunity to have access with all provisions provided deepening the children’s knowledge. Please try not to be anxious about your child starting as we will always phone you if they are struggling. We are also happy to be flexible about your child’s attendance in the first few weeks and if you prefer them not to stay for lunch at first and build up their time gradually then please let us know.
We also have an outside area which we use throughout the day along with two forest school areas which we share with the school. Our outdoor learning enables children to have freedom to explore and be physical. Our children love being outside as its fun, exciting and very important for children’s development. We are very fortunate to have our very own PE sessions with our onsite PE champion, Mr Ovey. The children love these PE lessons; they are a great chance to further develop their fine and gross motor skills.
Toilet training can be difficult for some children, so we like to work hard with parents/guardians to help all children become independent with toileting. However, if children are not toilet trained, we have a changing area which can be used for children in nappies.
Our nursery is staffed by an experienced early years teacher and a level 6 teaching assistant. We have mealtime assistants who help support children at lunch time. Children can bring their own packed lunch or have a hot dinner provided by the school kitchen. If your child is having a hot dinner provided, then you can order and pay for it though your ‘Parent Pay’ account. We have a self-register system for your child to use when dropping off. Please let your teachers know what lunch option your child wants if they are having school dinners.
We accept the Working Entitlement 30 hours funding.
Additional hours are charged at £5.22 per hour.
Our sessions run:
Session 1 - 8:30 – 11:30 or 12:30 (if staying till 12:30 this will include lunch)
Session 2 – 11.30 – 12:30 (lunchtime)
